Stonebwoy is a Ghanaian musician

It appears the rivalry between Ghanaian dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale is far from over, as Stonebwoy has once again drawn a line between himself and his longtime rival.

In an interview with Headless YouTuber, Stonebwoy stated that when it comes to lyrical ability, he cannot be compared to Shatta Wale.

The “Into the Future” hitmaker explained that putting the two of them side by side in that regard would not be fair, as he believes the difference in their lyrical strength is obvious.

Stonebwoy explains why clash culture is not popular in Ghana

He made this comment in response to a hypothetical question asked by the host about a charity boxing match between the two, supposedly to be organized by Ghanaian businessmen Ibrahim Mahama and Dr Osei Kwame Despite.

Stonebwoy clarified that while he is not a boxer and would not engage in such a bout, even if the conversation moved from boxing to music, he would still have the upper hand.

“Even if you want to extend that conversation to lyrical battle, it’s not something that is compatible. It would be like I’m cheating somebody because the difference is clear. Let everybody do their thing, we shall meet at the top,” Stonebwoy said.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale once faced off on September 12, 2020, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The event, organized by Asaase Radio and dubbed “A Clash to Crush COVID”, brought Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy together for a friendly lyrical battle aimed at promoting peace during the pandemic.

During that face off, the two gave the audience over 40 back-to-back hits, with playful lyrical exchanges.

The event also featured other notable performers, including MzVee, Ras Kuuku, and Karmelyeon, who entertained the crowd before the headline clash.
