The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has dismissed media reports alleging that more than ten of its directors have been asked to stay home while receiving full salaries.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, as sighted by GhanaWeb, COCOBOD described such claims as false and misleading, responding directly to allegations made by the former Head of Public Affairs at COCOBOD, Fiifi Boafo.

Fiifi Boafo, during a recent media interview, alleged that directors had been rendered almost useless and sidelined from active duty since the change of government.

However, COCOBOD insists the claims are baseless.

Management emphasised that no director has been asked to stay home while drawing a salary. The statement further clarified, “No director is on leave except for the former Director of Finance, who had not taken leave for eight years.”

According to COCOBOD, the former Director of Finance is now on leave in accordance with standard administrative procedures, and no other director is on leave.
