Clement Ike Quartey, senior brother of legendary Ghanaian boxer Ike ‘Bazooka’ Quartey has passed away on November 2, 2024, in the United Kingdom.

Reports from sources at the Ghana Boxing Authority have confirmed the death of the legendary boxer at the age of 86.

Currently, the cause of his unfortunate demise has not been revealed.

He also holds the distinction of being Ghana’s first-ever Olympic medalist, winning silver in Rome in 1960.

He also a gold medal at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Perth, Western Australia.

He won 7 out of 9 bouts he fought in his career. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of boxing in Ghana.
