Ghana winger Christopher Bonsu Baah has expressed disappointment following his debut for Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Super Cup.

The winger, who joined Al Qadsiah in the transfer window from Belgium giants Genk, lasted only 42 minutes on his debut after he was sent off for a late tackle in the game against Al Ahli.

Bonsu Baah delivered the assist for the opening goal of the match, but Al Qadsiah ended up losing 5-1 to the Asian champions.

While sharing his frustration for the red card, Bonsu Baah acknowledged the support of the fans and promised to give much better performing in future matches.

“Thank you for your support at my official debut game It wasn’t the start we hoped for especially with my red card but I’m taking it as a learning experience I’m determined to improve and give you all a better performance next time your encouragement means a lot,” he posted on Instagram.

Bonsu Baah had earlier provided the assisted for his side’s opener which was converted by Gaston Alvarez but a late challenge in the 42nd minute saw the Ghanaian shown the marching orders.

Meanwhile, Al Ahli recovered after the early set back to head into the break 4-1 up after Frank Kessie had cancelled Alvarez’s strike.

Ivan Toney converted from the spot to hand Al Ahli the lead for the first time in the game before Enzo Milot and Kessie added two more strikes to the half.

After the break, Nacho scored an own goal as Al Ahli cruise to the final, where they will face Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr side.

Bonsu Baah will miss Al Qadsiah’s opening game of the campaign against Al-Najma Saudi on August 30.
