San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey suffered a humiliating error during their defeat against the Seattle Seahawks – while wife Olivia Culpo watched on.
The 49ers and Seahawks met on Saturday for their final regular season game – with the winner taking the No. 1 seed in the NFC and home-field advantage in the playoffs.
In the end, it was the Seahawks who emerged victorious after securing a 13-3 win at Levi’s Stadium. However, things could have been very different on the night.
In the fourth quarter of the game, with the Seahawks up by 10, the 49ers found themselves on 2nd-and-goal as they pushed to get back into the contest.
During the play, San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy picked out running back McCaffrey just three yards out of the end zone, but he wasn’t able to take it home.
Instead, McCaffrey failed to catch the ball and tipped it to Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas, who made a game-winning interception before being pushed out of bounds.

McCaffrey’s wife, Olivia Culpo, watched on from the stands inside Levi’s Stadium and shared a picture of her with their daughter, Colette, prior to kick-off on Saturday afternoon
The defensive play by Thomas put an end to the 49ers’ attack and, in the end, helped the Seahawks clinch the win, as well as the No.1 seed in the NFC.
It also means that Seattle will enjoy home-field advantage until the Super Bowl.
The embarrassing fumble by McCaffrey was made worse by the fact his wife, Olivia Culpo, was watching on from the stands at Levi’s Stadium.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Saturday, Culpo shared a picture of her and their daughter, Colette Annalise, cheering on the 49ers running back.
Culpo also posted a video of herself and McCaffrey speaking on the sidelines moments before kick-off, with the running back seen holding Colette in the air.
The couple announced the arrival of Colette back on July 13 in a joint Instagram post which included a carousel of black-and-white photos of the family in the hospital.
Among those images included one where McCaffrey was seen holding Culpo’s hand as she underwent a C-section.
In the months that followed, Rhode Island native Culpo had been open about the difficulties of her pregnancy.’

In a TikTok post from March, Culpo revealed that she had ‘pneumonia and I was sick also for two weeks… I’ve truly been on bed rest for four weeks.’
She added, ‘Towards the end of two weeks of being really sick, I got a subchorionic hematoma’.
A subchorionic hematoma – or a subchorionic hemmorhage – is a condition where there’s bleeding between the wall of the uterus and one of the sacs (chorion) which enclose the embryo in the uterus, according to the NIH’s National Library of Medicine.
‘So at this point, I was so exhausted, like two weeks of just not being able to move and then all of a sudden just purging,’ Culpo explained.
‘It was a lot. It was heavy… I went to the doctor and it was really exciting to see that there was still a heartbeat.’
Thankfully, Colette was born healthy and the couple have been in the early stages of raising her ever since.
