Vice President of the Ghana South African Business Chamber (GSABC), Chris Evert, has expressed excitement ahead of the fourth edition of the Rainbow Nations Challenge tennis tournament.
Evert expects a high level of competition, reflecting on last year’s intense matchups, particularly those involving Ghana and India.
“We expect a fantastic competition. Last year, we had some good games. The Indian game and the Ghana game were very tough. The Ghana team has some very good players, and obviously, there is the South African team, which is also good,” he told the media.
While acknowledging the strength of other teams, Evert admitted that South Africa has their eyes on the trophy.
“We (South Africa) would like to win, but surely it will be a great competition,” he added.
The Rainbow Nations Tennis Tournament is set to take place from March 11 to 13 at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club.
The competition feature 56 players from 23 countries and continues to grow as a premier event that not only showcases top-tier tennis talent but also fosters cultural exchange and sportsmanship.
