The FBI has announced it stopped a Halloween terror attack planned for this weekend.
FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X early Friday, stating multiple suspects had been arrested in Michigan.
‘This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend,’ Patel said.
Millions of Americans are preparing to hit the streets tonight and over the weekend for trick-or-treating and Halloween parties and festivities.
It’s not clear how many people were arrested or what the nature of the potential attack was, but Patel said the FBI will release more details shortly on the alleged plot.

Separately, in May, the FBI said it arrested a man who had spent months planning an attack against a US Army site in suburban Detroit on behalf of the Islamic State group.
The man, Ammar Said, didn´t know that his supposed allies in the alleged plot were undercover FBI employees.
Said remains in custody, charged with attempting to provide support to a terrorist organization.
The criminal complaint was replaced in September with a criminal ‘information’ document, signaling that a guilty plea is likely.
While Michigan voted red in the 2024 presidential election, the state is run by a Democratic governor and Senate – but has a Republican House.
Its largest city, Detroit, has some of the highest violent crime rates in the country, and has faced criticism from Trump and other Republicans for mismanagement by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party.
