Chelsea are winners of the 2025 Club World Cup

Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, On Sunday, July 13 to win the Club World Cup trophy.

In a stunning performance, Cole Palmer, the 23-year-old English star scored twice and assisted on another, leaving the French champs speechless just before halftime.

Late in the game, João Neves was sent off for yanking Marc Cucurella’s hair, which made PSG’s night even worse.

When PSG defender Nuno Mendes gave the ball away cheaply to Malo Gusto in the 22nd minute, Chelsea took the lead.

Although the French fullback’s first attempt was stopped, he was the first to react and pick out Palmer, who slotted home neatly from close range.

Palmer extended the lead with a superb moment shortly after the half-hour mark. He cut inside, sold a dummy to a defender, and curled a clinical goal into the bottom-left corner after picking up Levi Colwill’s superbly weighted through ball.

Palmer’s vision was responsible for the Blues’ third goal. He rushed forward, setting up João Pedro, who rounded Gianluigi Donnarumma, timed his move flawlessly, and dinked the ball over the stranded PSG goalie.

PSG was already well behind, and their annoyance reached a boiling point in the 83rd minute when Neves was sent off for an absurd hair-pull on Cucurella.

The Ligue 1 powerhouses were trounced in every aspect, and their dismissal summed up a terrible evening.
