Carragher is a football pundit at Sky Sports

Chelsea Supporters have lambasted former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher for underestimating the value of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

During The Overlap show, one of the fans told the pundit that Chelsea are the best club in the world at the moment after winning the inaugural edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.

In response, the Sky Sports pundit rejected the assertion, arguing that it is not a competitive competition, as some people claim, because some top teams did not participate.

He noted that the absence of La Liga champions Barcelona, Premier League champions Liverpool, and Serie A champions Napoli from the tournament makes it non-competitive.

In the course of the interactive session, one Chelsea fan said, “We are the greatest team in the world.”

Carragher retorted, “It’s not a proper competition; how can you be Champions of the World if the champions of England, Spain, and Italy weren’t even in it?”

This remark has sparked fury among Chelsea fans, who chided Carragher for being obsessed with the club by consistently making negative utterances.
