The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has imposed serious sanctions on the champions of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Senegal following chaotic incidents in the final.

Several players, the coach, and the country’s football federation were suspended and fined large sums of money to serve as a deterrent.

In the final, refereeing decisions sparked fury among the players and technical staff of the Teranga Lions.
