Founder and CEO of Caveman Watches, Anthony Dzamefe, known for his innovative approach to watchmaking, was honored at the 89th Ghana Open Championship and Royal Dinner.

The event, organized by the Ghana Golf Association under the auspices of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, aimed to celebrate the 25th Silver Jubilee of his reign as the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool.

According to Mr. Dzamefe, the royal invitation to participate in the 89th Ghana Open Championship and Dinner with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was a significant honour for him. He expressed his gratitude for being recognized at such a prestigious event, highlighting the importance of collaboration between business and sports in promoting local culture and talent.

Speaking about this recognition, he stated, “Being part of such a prestigious event alongside notable figures is truly an honour. It reflects the importance of supporting local enterprises and inspiring future generations.”

During the ceremonial event, Mr. Dzamefe, along with the president of the Ghana Golf Association, Mr. Leonard Kwaku Okyere, and two other prominent personalities, joined the Asantehene for the ceremonial tee-off to mark the official start of the championship.

The event, held from November 13 to 16, 2024, at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi, saw approximately 250 golfers from Ghana and across Africa compete, including participants from countries like Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and the United States. Caveman Watches was also one of the sponsors.

As the lush greens of the Royal Golf Club came alive with the spirit of competition, there were thrilling displays of skill and competitiveness. Notable performances included several players achieving impressive scores across various categories, from amateur golfers to seasoned professionals. Spectators were treated to stellar performances, with participants demonstrating exceptional skill and determination.

The event climaxed with a Royal Dinner, where the renowned horologist also joined the Asantehene, Mr. Leonard Kwaku Okyere, president of the Ghana Golf Association, and other prestigious personalities at the high table.

Dzamefe’s journey from selling watches in Accra to establishing Caveman Watches as a leading brand in Ghana is a remarkable story of innovation and resilience. Since its launch in December 2018, Caveman Watches has gained international acclaim, including features in major publications like The New York Times. The brand has become synonymous with quality and craftsmanship, earning accolades such as ‘Brand of the Year’ at the Emy Africa Awards.
