Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Celestine Donkor has shared a harrowing account of a spiritual attack she and her family experienced, which she believes was carried out through black magic.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Agbebolo hitmaker revealed that the frightening incident took place in February last year at a photo and rehearsal studio she co-owns with her husband.

According to Celestine, the ordeal began when the studio attendant called early one morning with shocking news.

The attendant reportedly found 21 white eggs and a calabash filled with grains, including beans, rice, millet, maize, and groundnut,s mysteriously placed at the entrance of the studio.

“My husband and I own a photo and rehearsal studio. We had a call from the studio attendant one morning, only to be told that someone had placed 21 white eggs and a calabash filled with beans, rice, millet, maize, and groundnuts at the entrance,” Celestine recounted.

She further explained that the calabash was lined with a white cloth and contained a folded paper with their family names written on it, which left them deeply unsettled.

Even more chilling, the singer noted that the items were discovered on a Friday morning, a day she believes was deliberately chosen because her husband was born on a Friday.

“Guess what, it was dropped in the early hours of a Friday, knowing that my husband is a Friday-born,” she said.

Following the disturbing discovery, Celestine and her husband turned to prayer for divine protection, joining forces with their prayer partners to intercede against the spiritual attack.

She said the experience strengthened her faith and eventually inspired the writing of her powerful gospel anthem, “I Carry Fire.”

“We entered prayer with our prayer partners. We used Isaiah 54:17 and Isaiah 7:7, out of which I got the song ‘I Carry Fire,’” Celestine revealed.

The verses she referenced, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17) and “It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass” (Isaiah 7:7), became the spiritual foundation for the song.

Since its release, “I Carry Fire” has resonated deeply with listeners, many of whom identify with its message of divine protection and spiritual triumph.
