Cardi B is an American rapper
Popular American rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known professionally as Cardi B, has opened up about the inspiration behind the title of her new album.
In an interview with Apple Music, shared on Instagram on September 19, 2025, Cardi B revealed that the album’s title, ‘Am I A Drama’, was born out of the chaotic experiences that have shaped her life.
Reflecting on her younger years, Cardi B explained that even during middle school, she often found herself in situations that made her question whether she was the problem.
“Because I always feel like I’m always in some shit, like I have always been some shit, and I have been in some shit since like middle school. I would walk home, and it’s like, what the fuck did I just get jumped? What did I really do? What did I really do that I got me jumped?” she said.

Cardi B added that the album’s title came from her constant self-reflection and confusion over the recurring drama in her life.
“Why am I in this messy situation? And then it has always been like that my whole life. Like, even sometimes, it’s like, damn, does drama follow me, or am I just the drama? Like, why am I always in some shit? But then again, it’s like, I’m always in some shit, but it’s my life,” he added.
