Captain Planet has ignited a heated debate on social media after criticizing the outfits worn by some young female attendees at this year’s Tidal Rave festival.

In a post shared shortly after the event, the rapper expressed shock over what he described as increasingly revealing fashion choices among young women.

“I just dey see some dressings from yesterday’s Tidal Rave. Chaley, some of these small, small girls—I don’t know whether them be models or pornstars. What the hell is happening in Ghana?” he wrote.

His comments immediately drew backlash online, with critics accusing him of disrespecting women and attempting to police their bodies. Many argued that fashion trends evolve and that festivals have long been spaces for creative and expressive dressing.

Some users insisted that his remarks perpetuate harmful stereotypes about women’s clothing choices and unfairly place moral judgment on the younger generation.

In response to the criticism, Captain Planet doubled down on his stance, clarifying that his concerns were rooted in what he called “decency,” not an attempt to restrict personal freedom.

“So you go allow your sister to dress like this outside?” he fired back at one critic. “You’re comparing Ghana to America?”

His rebuttal has further intensified the conversation online, with supporters agreeing that Ghanaian youth are becoming overly exposed to Western culture, while others argue that societal expectations should not dictate how women dress.
