    As part of MTN Corporate Social Responsibility, the company has distributed over 60 baby hampers to mothers who delivered on the 25th December at the Cape Coast Teaching hospital.

    Receiving the hampers on behalf of the hospital at the O and G department, a Midwifery Officer, Mrs. Priscilla Agyie, thanked MTN foundation for the kind gesture and promised to hand over the items to beneficiaries mothers and children.

    Speaking to the media shortly after presentation, Mrs. Agyie disclosed that Cape Coast Teaching Hospital recorded 12 new babies which comprised four girls and eight boys on 25th December this year.

    According to her, MTN hampers to the new babies and mothers would significantly reduce the financial burden on the mothers and the hospital. She adds, normally hospital authorities try to provide some support for mothers who cannot afford to buy baby items for their baby after given birth.

    The Southern Branch Human Resource Manager of MTN Mrs. Regina Arkaifie, who made the presentation on behalf of the Foundation stated that project showcases the human face of the MTN brand, demonstrating their commitment to caring for the well-being of Ghanaians by providing essential items to families with newborn babies.

    She strongly believed that, “the presentation of these hampers to new babies would alleviate some of the pressures associated with caring for a new life”,Mrs. akaifie stated.

    According to her, MTN Foundation has distributed over 600 hampers across all the 16 regions, with central region being a beneciary of 60, which was distributed to some selected hospitals.

    Mrs. Arkaifie indicated that the baby hampers distribution project is a shining example of MTN’s dedication to giving back to the community and they are proud to showcase the caring side of their brand during this yuletide season.
