Ghana international Caleb Ansah Ekuban emerged as the hero for Genoa, scoring a stoppage time equalizer to secure an important away draw against Como in the Italian Series clash on Monday night.

The former Black Stars attacker made substitute appearance as his outfit held Como to a 1-1 draw in matchday three of the Italian top-flight at the Marco Piccinini.

Ekuban was introduced into the high-stake clash in the 71st-minute mark, replacing Icaeland international Mikael Egill Ellertsson.

The 31-year-old played a pivotal role in the match by registering his name on the scoresheet to salvage his outfit from defeat.

Como broke the deadlock through inform attacker Nico Paz, just 13 minutes into the match following an assist from his Spanish compatriot Alvaro Morata, as the host went to the halftime break with the advantage.

The host were on course for their second win of the campaign but the introduction of Issahaku changed the dynamics of the game.

Ekuban made a strong impact in the game by scoring in the additional minute to snatch a vital away point for the side.

The Ghana international has made two appearances for Genoa this season, scoring one goal across the period.

Having opened his scoring account, the former Trabzonspor star will be hoping to maintain his form throughout the 2025/26 football campaign.
