On Tuesday, February 2025, the Buz Stop Boys, a volunteer sanitation club, announced a major milestone on social media: the unwrapping of a new mini excavator. The GH¢80,000 machine was purchased thanks to generous donations from President John Dramani Mahama (GH¢50,000) and dancehall musician Shatta Wale (GH¢30,000).
The group’s film expresses its thankfulness and the accomplishments they’ve made in their mission to keep Ghana clean. What began as small-scale cleanup activities with basic tools has grown into a more efficient operation utilizing modern machinery. This new excavator will make normal sanitation operations more efficient and effective.
In the video, the Buz Stop Boys express their profound gratitude to both contributors. The machine’s unboxing received enormous response from Ghanaians, with many tagging the donors’ social media accounts in appreciation.
This video follows a recent incident in which a Buz Stop Boys member was involved in a hit-and-run accident while cleaning up. Fortunately, the driver was captured and the incident was settled.
The Buz Stop Boys’ unpacking video is a heartfelt reminder of the power of community support and the practical impact it can have.
