Kenpong is a Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist

Ghana is still mourning the tragic death of eight state officials in the August 6, 2025, military helicopter crash, but another unsettling news story has gripped the nation.

Businessman and philanthropist Kennedy Agyapong, widely known as “Kenpong” and a close associate of the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has reportedly been involved in a road accident.

According to a report by Max Online, the incident occurred on August 8, 2025, along the Accra–Winneba road.

“Kenpong involved in a serious car crash,” the portal stated on Sunday August 10, 2024.

Details about the cause of the accident and whether there were any casualties have not yet been confirmed.

Kennedy Agyapong, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Kenpong Group of Companies, has contributed significantly to Ghana’s socio-economic development through ventures in telecom engineering, sports, construction, communications, and travel and tourism.

His businesses include Kenpong Travel and Tour, Icegold Mineral Water, and the Kenpong Football Academy.

After Max Online shared news of the accident on social media, many Ghanaians took to the comments section to send him well wishes.

“I wish Kenpong a speedy recovery. May God protect and heal him quickly, ensuring a full recovery from any injuries sustained,” one user wrote.

“Oh no, hope Kenpong is okay! Reminds me of when @RyanCarterNYK had that close call last year—scary how fast things can happen. Sending good vibes,” another added.
