Correspondence from North East Region

The Bunkpurugu Constituency Executive Committee in the North East Region has vehemently denied allegations of rigging in the New Patriotic Party‘s (NPP) 2023 presidential primaries.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 23, 2025, the committee’s secretary, Moses Bumbom, addressed claims by some delegates alleging they voted for Kennedy Agyapong but were awarded zero votes.

The committee stated, “The attention of the Bunkpurugu constituency executive committee has been drawn to a viral video circulating on social media, in which certain individuals are making baseless allegations of electoral malpractice during the last presidential primaries.” They categorically refuted these claims, describing them as “false, misleading, and maliciously intended to damage the integrity of both constituency and regional executives.”

The committee questioned the timing of the allegations, asking, “If, indeed, these individuals claim to have voted for Hon. Ken, the committee questions why no protest or complaint was raised on the day of voting. Their failure to raise any immediate objection and their lack of evidence expose their allegations as fabrications devoid of truth.”

The committee emphasized the strict enforcement of procedures during the voting process and announced plans to convene an emergency meeting to refer the individuals making the allegations to the party’s disciplinary committee.
