Five of Ghana’s greatest footballers have been honoured by BRÜHM Ghana, one of Ghana’s leading home appliance brands, for their contribution to Ghana football at a Legends Dinner last Friday.

They include Rev. Osei Kofi, Ibrahim Sunday, Mohammed Ahmed ‘Polo,’ Nii Odartey Lamptey and Daniel Quaye.

Their achievement span Africa Cup of Nations triumphs, continental club championships, FIFA youth success, World Cup representation and individual honours.

The event was dedicated to celebrating sporting excellence, preserving national heritage and recognising the individuals whose achievements have become part of Ghana’s collective memory.

In attendance were football legends, government officials, sports administrators, corporate leaders, business partners, media personalities and others.

Delivering the keynote address, the Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Ms Veronica Commey, praised the company for recognising Ghana’s football pioneers during their lifetime.

She noted that initiatives such as BRÜHM Honours Legends help preserve Ghana’s sporting heritage while ensuring younger generations understand and appreciate the pioneers whose achievements elevated the country’s reputation on the international stage.

The Marketing Manager for BRÜHM and Somotex Ghana Limited, Awurakua Antwi, said the initiative reflects the company’s belief that the greatest brands were built not only through the products they created but also through the stories and people they choose to celebrate.

She added that BRÜHM remains committed to celebrating people and initiatives that strengthen communities, preserve national heritage and inspire future generations, reaffirming the brand’s role not only in Ghanaian homes but also in the stories that give those homes meaning.

The dinner marked the culmination of the nationwide BRÜHM Honours Legends campaign, a storytelling initiative that celebrated the lives, sacrifices and achievements of the five legends through documentary films, digital content and public engagement, encouraging Ghanaians to reconnect with the personalities behind some of the nation’s most unforgettable football moments.

Throughout the evening, moving documentary tributes and personal reflections reminded guests that behind every celebrated victory were years of discipline, sacrifice and resilience.
