Ghanaian media personality Bridget Otoo

Ghanaian media personality Bridget Otoo has been appointed as a Presidential Staffer responsible for Government Communications.

In a series of heartfelt posts shared on X on June 27, 2025, she expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve in his administration.

“This appointment to serve at the Seat of Government as a Presidential Staffer for Government Communications, although earned through grit, dedication, and hard work, is still an incredible privilege, one I intend to prove myself worthy of throughout my service,” she wrote.

Bridget Otoo also extended her appreciation to First Lady Lordina Mahama and Presidential Advisor Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, whom she described as a key supporter and mentor.

“My heartfelt gratitude goes to His Excellency the President and Her Excellency First Lady Lordina Mahama for their consideration and constant check-ins. I am especially grateful to Presidential Advisor and Special Aide to the President, Mrs. Joyce Bawa Mogtari, for making me her personal project,” she added.

In her post, she opened up on what inspired her political alignment with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and explained why her appointment is only being made public now.

“I had always pictured a grand celebration following our victory. But fate had other plans. Instead, I watched our victory lap from a hospital bed after what was supposed to be a routine check-up turned into weeks of admission,” she revealed.

She added that her husband, Van, and his cousin Richard provided real-time updates from the event, which helped her feel part of the celebration despite her absence.

“My silver lining was experiencing it vicariously through them. Once I was back on my feet, I was deeply honoured to be considered for a role in helping shape this government’s mandate,” she added.

Bridget Otoo is a well-known radio and television personality in Ghana. She has worked with several top media houses including Good News FM, Sky TV, TV3, and Metro TV.

Her transition into public service marks a significant milestone in her career.
