Caitlin Clark produced an iconic moment on her return to Iowa this weekend after hitting an incredible three-pointer in the very same spot she broke the all-time college basketball scoring record last year.

The 23-year-old was back at her old stomping ground for the Indiana Fever’s exhibition match against the Brazil national team on Sunday, just over a year since she became the highest scorer in NCAA history.

As well as registering 16 points, six rebounds and five assists in a resounding 108-44 victory for Indiana, Clark made a sensational 36-foot shot right in front of her ’22’ logo on the court Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa had the logo, a reference to her jersey number for the Hawkeyes, engraved on the exact spot where she broke the NCAA record just days after the historic moment in February 2024.

And on her grand homecoming to the venue, Clark nailed a three-pointer less than a yard behind it.

The WNBA superstar was fit enough to play in Iowa after sitting out Indiana’s preseason game against the Washington Mystics on Saturday.

After struggling with an injury to her left leg, the Fever made the decision to rest their top player ahead of Sunday’s exhibition against Brazil.

It proved an inspired decision as Clark enjoyed an impressive return to the court at her former home, where she was swarmed by a large crowd of adoring fans before tip-off.

She is currently gearing up for her second season in the WNBA after an unforgettable rookie year.

The Iowa legend won Rookie of the Year in her debut season and averaged 19.2 points and 8.4 assists per game, as she led Indiana to the postseason and helped the WNBA smash viewership records.

Now entering her second year as a pro, Clark has been working with newly-hired Fever coach White – and she made an interesting ask of the former Connecticut Sun coach.

As relayed by ESPN’s Alexa Philippou on SportsCenter, Clark recently sat down with White and her coaching staff to go over some of her film from last season.

And Clark even asked White if she could see the scouting report the Sun used against her last year, when White was still coaching them.

Connecticut managed to hold Clark well below her season averages in four meetings, as she scored 16.5 points and dished out just 3.8 assists per contest.

She also shot just 39.2 percent from the field and committed 25 total turnovers.
