It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period as clubs look to make big signings ahead of the new season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

Juve throw hat into the ring for Sarr

Juventus have joined the clubs that are asking about Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr. They want a loan deal.

Monaco, Nottingham Forest and Besiktas are also in the frame.

    Everton fans plea over Armstrong

Everton travelling supporters made their feelings clear on Harrison Armstrong’s potential sale to Nottingham Forest. At today’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth fans in the away end repeatedly chanted: ‘Don’t sell Armstrong, Harrison Armstrong, I just don’t think you understand…. If you sell Armstrong, Harrison Armstrong, you’re going to have a riot on your hands.’

Armstrong, 19, is a £40m target for Nottingham Forest and started the game.

Munoz set for Forest in £22m deal

Daniel Munoz is set to complete a move to Nottingham Forest after the club agreed a deal in principle with Crystal Palace.

The Colombian international, a favourite of Oliver Glasner, is set to link up with his old boss at the City Ground for a fee of about £22million.

Munoz was a key player in the Glasner era at Selhurst Park, when the Eagles won three trophies. But at 30, Palace believe this is a good deal ahead of the transfer window closing on September 1.

Forest drew 2-2 at Liverpool today and are keen to strengthen in midfield, with talks underway to sign Harrison Armstrong from Everton for about £40m.

As revealed by Daily Mail Sport, Forest are also prepared to let winger Omari Hutchinson depart after leaving him out of the squad at Anfield. AC Milan have shown a strong interest in the England Under-21 international and if talks proceed smoothly, he could fly to Italy as soon as Sunday.

Discussions between the clubs have centred around an initial season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met. Milan are managed by former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim and have started the season with two wins.

    Gunners snap up United winger

Arsenal have announced the signing of winger James Scanlon from Manchester United. The deal is a free transfer but United retain a 50 per cent sell-on.

The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Swindon Town, where he scored his first senior club goal and helped the Robins finish ninth. However, he was viewed as having little chance of making an impact on United’s first team.

Scanlon is already a Gibraltar international, earning 24 senior caps and featuring in World Cup qualifiers and Nations League matches.

‘I can’t wait to get started,’ Scanlon told the club’s official website. ‘I’ve been waiting to get this over the line, so I’m buzzing to be here.’

Arsenal have also agreed a deal to sign 17-year-old Georgian attacking midfielder Andria Bartishvili ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.

The teenager is due to have a medical next week before joining in the New Year.

United academy star heads for Rotherham loan

Manchester United academy midfielder Jayce Fitzgerald is set to join Rotherham United on loan.

Daily Mail Sport understands the 19-year-old, who has never previously been out on loan, is keen to test himself in a senior set-up after excelling at Under-21s level.

Fitzgerald will head to Rotherham, the club who helped develop fellow Manchester United youngster Dan Gore last season. Gore won their Player of the Season award.

    Foxes on the hunt

Leicester City, who visit MK Dons in League One today, want to sign either George Dobson or Matty James from Wrexham and are asking about both midfielders.

Wrexham are still in for Leicester centre back Harry Souttar as they juggle targets.

City’s Bah talks over move to Germany

Manchester City centre back Juma Bah is in talks to join Augsburg on loan.

The 20-year-old 6ft 5in defender spent last season on loan at Nice.

Leeds try Harder ahead of deadline

Leeds United maintain an interest in RB Leipzig forward Conrad Harder though they face competition for the Denmark international.

Leipzig are finalising a deal for Chelsea‘s Marc Guiu to increase competition for places. Leeds winger Willy Gnonto is attracting attention from Fiorentina meanwhile.

The winger has missed Leeds’ first two games of the season with a hamstring injury he sustained during pre-season.

    Black Cats enquire about Malick

Sunderland have asked about Lyon winger Malick Fofana.

The 21-year-old has been discussing a move to Roma but Sunderland have made a late check as their own pursuit of a winger has hit a few bumps.

They remain in talks for Igor Paixao from Marseille and had placed an offer for Geny Catamo at Sporting Lisbon but have still to reach breakthrough.

They also enquired for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish earlier this week but believe he may end up at Tottenham.

    Besiktas ask about Sarr

Besiktas have asked about signing Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr on a permanent deal.

The Senegal international also has Monaco and Nottingham Forest offers to consider

    Elliott a target for Valencia

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott is being eyed by Spanish side Valencia.

As Daily Mail Sport reported yesterday, the 23-year-old has interest from a number of clubs with Lazio and Napoli among them but Valencia are hopeful they can sign the England U21 international on loan.

Liverpool have still to receive an official approach but are aware of interest.

    Malaga push for Everton’s Aznou

Malaga are progressing in talks to sign Adam Aznou from Everton.

Aznou came on as a substitute in the 4-0 win over Preston North End in midweek but has struggled since joining from Bayern Munich.

Everton have checked on Melvin Bard at Nice, among others.

Toon press on with Pardo move

Newcastle United are continuing to discuss a move for Lille forward Mathias-Fernandez Pardo and appreciate Bilal El Khannouss at Stuttgart.

El Khannouss, formerly of Leicester, has been mentioned at Everton also as they anticipate bids for Iliman Ndiaye.

    Fulham in for Vallecano defender

Fulham are trying to complete a deal for Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Ratiu.

The Romania right-back has already approved the move but there had been interest from Nottingham Forest also. The 28-year-old can also play in midfield.

Everton have shown interest in Fulham’s Timothy Castagne who has a year left in contract.

Forest in talks over £40m move for Everton teen

Nottingham Forest are continuing attempts to rebuild their midfield following Elliot Anderson’s sale.

They are speaking to Everton about a deal worth £40m for their homegrown 19-year-old midfielder Harrison Armstrong, who started against Crystal Palace last week.

They have enquired about a loan with option to buy Pape Matar Sarr from Tottenham, who also has Monaco interest.

And they are continuing talks with Corinthians for 20-year-old Brazilian Andre.

Forest are close to reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace for Daniel Munoz. Forest made a £22m bid earlier this week and negotiations are at the final stages.

The contract is being finalised and the deal for the 18-year-old is worth £47m.

PSG are making up to £170m from the deals for Bradley Barcola and Mbaye.

    Barcola set for Liverpool medical

Bradley Barcola is due on Merseyside this weekend to undergo a medical after Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain reached agreement on a £106million fee rising to £123m.

The 23-year-old France international is set sign a Liverpool contract until 2031 after the Anfield club finalised the structure of the transfer over the past 24 hours.

Liverpool are now set to pay £17m in add-ons.

Documents are still to be exchanged between the clubs and details are being arranged for Barcola to travel.

Liverpool are continuing to pursue another winger though Crystal Palace want a substantial fee for Ismaila Sarr after initial conversations last week.

Alternatives are being explored though Sarr, 28, is keen on the move. Palace have also asked about Torino’s Alieu Njie and are in the throes of selling Daniel Munoz to Nottingham Forest.
