Oleksii “Viking” Zhuk was originally scheduled to face Czech Adam Kolarik for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Cruiserweight title on September 20 in Obukhiv, Ukraine.
The fight was postponed to October 10, due to logistical issues, forcing Kolarik to pull out due to other commitments. Now Zhuk will face Josip Pehar from Croatia on the new date.
Zhuk (7-5, 5 KOs) is still the favourite, coming off three stoppage wins and fighting in his home-town, but in Pehar he is facing an experienced and battle-tested opponent.
Born in Bosnia & Herzegovina, 26-year-old Pehar brings a mediocre record of 11-8 (1), but seven of his defeats have come against undefeated opponents.
He is a former IBA and WBU title-challenger, and will be hoping that his third championship opportunity will be the one where he gets his hands raised in victory.
