WBC#8 southpaw Jun Ikegawa (11-1-3, 4 KOs), 122, pounded out a nearly lopsided decision (99-1, 98-92 twice) over Koji Tsurumi (10-8-2, 5 KOs), 122, over ten hot rounds to retain his Japanese national super bantam belt on Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan. Though lopsided on the scoresheets, the fight itself wasn’t one-sided but competitive and hard-fought because of the challenger’s admired resilience and retaliation. The sparse audience truly appreciated the main event between the champ and the JBC #13 challenger and the latter’s gameness as well.
Promoter: Dangan Promotions.
