UFC Fight Night: Nurmagomedov vs. Song (UFC Fight Night 286), August 29, 2026, at the SPD Bank Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai.

Main card

In the bantamweight main event, 28-year-old Chinese fighter Song Yadong scored a major upset, knocking out Russia’s Umar Nurmagomedov at 1:48 of Round 2.

In Round 1, Nurmagomedov caught a kick and scored a takedown. Song hunted a guillotine, but Nurmagomedov escaped and controlled from top position before Song returned to his feet. Song landed a right hand late in the round. Early in Round 2, an accidental clash of heads opened a cut over Song’s right eye. Nurmagomedov then dropped for another takedown, and Song timed a right uppercut that put him out cold. Follow-up shots sealed the knockout.

In the women’s strawweight co-main event, 26-year-old Brazilian Denise Gomes knocked out China’s Yan Xiaonan at 4:49 of Round 1. Gomes applied pressure throughout the opening frame. Late in the round she landed an elbow and follow-up punches that ended the fight. The win was Gomes’ fifth in a row.

In a bantamweight bout, 32-year-old Japanese fighter Kai Asakura stopped Mongolia’s Aoriqileng (also listed as Aori Qileng) by TKO at 0:34 of Round 2. Round 1 was competitive. At the start of Round 2, Asakura landed a left head kick that hurt Aoriqileng, then finished with punches. It was a TKO, not a submission.

In a flyweight rematch, China’s Su Mudaerji (Sumudaerji) defeated American Alex Perez by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). The third round was decisive, as Sumudaerji kept Perez at range and did enough to take the cards.

In the light heavyweight division, China’s Liu Ce knocked out Brazil’s Levi Rodrigues Jr. at 4:26 of Round 1. After a back-and-forth exchange, Liu took over and finished with a punch.

Indonesian-American Bilal Hasan knocked out Nilson Rojas at 2:28 of Round 2.

Brazilian André Lima submitted Mongolia’s Namsrai Batbayar with a guillotine choke at 3:03 of Round 3 (catchweight after Lima missed the flyweight limit).

Japan’s Rei Tsuruya submitted Peru’s Kevin Borjas with a rear-naked choke at 4:14 of Round 1.

American Sean Woodson edged Australia’s Jack Jenkins by split decision, 29-28, 29-28, and 28-29.

Italy’s Francesco Nuzzi stopped China’s Xiao Long by TKO (punches) at 1:00 of Round 1.
