Danish paper Ekstra Bladet reveals (confirming some time of rumors) that the Viking Warrior, the now 47-year old former WBA and WBC super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler (46-3) could be on his way to a surprising comeback November 28 at the Brondby Hall on the outskirts of Copenhagen on a show promoted by Kalle Sauerland.
As for who Kessler will fight, EB writes that it will be against an American opponent yet to be named – but points put that nothing is confirmed.
Kessler, who of late has been involved with training IBF super middleweight challenger Oliver Zaren, last attempted a comeback in 2017 but it was cancelled early 2018 after a battle with Lyme disease.
Mikkel’s last fight dates back to 2013 when he lost Carl Froch in London after a terrific fight.
The Brondby Hall is where Kessler became a world champion for the first time when stopped Manny Siaca Jr.
