Belgium’s biggest boxing sensation, Michiel Partoens, delivered another statement performance on Saturday night, knocking out previously unbeaten Elaige Camara (8-0, 8 KOs) after just 80 seconds at a sold-out Topsportcentrum Rotterdam.
From the opening bell, Partoens took control of the contest, applying relentless pressure and forcing Camara onto the back foot. A sharp, explosive combination landed cleanly, ending the fight instantly and prompting the referee to wave off the bout.
The victory was witnessed by a packed arena, including more than 200 Belgian supporters who made the trip to Rotterdam to cheer on their countryman. Fans across Belgium and the Netherlands were also able to follow the action live through broadcasts on VTM GO and Videoland.
The emphatic win has further strengthened Partoens’ position on the international stage. Following the victory, he climbs to No. 27 in the world rankings, moving another step closer to boxing’s elite and further establishing himself as one of Belgium’s most promising combat sports athletes.
Partoens is represented by Artist Amplifier, the management agency co-owned by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Together with his management team, Partoens is now focused on the next phase of his career, pursuing opportunities against highly ranked opponents and positioning himself for a title opportunity.
Several dates and locations for a major event in early 2027 are currently under consideration. While no official announcement has been made regarding an opponent, venue, or date, discussions are ongoing for a high-profile bout that could propel Partoens into the world’s top tier.
Currently ranked No. 27 in the world and continuing his rapid rise through the rankings, Partoens has made it clear that he is ready to face top-20 and even top-10 opposition.
“I’m ready for the next stage of my career. I want to test myself against the very best fighters in the division and bring a major title back to Belgium.”
Belgium has not hosted a major international boxing event in the region for many years, but with the sport enjoying renewed momentum in the country, Partoens hopes to play a leading role in its resurgence.
His explosive victory in Rotterdam was another significant step toward that goal and a clear message to the rest of the division: Michiel Partoens is coming.
