Preparations continue for what promises to be one of the most exciting celebrations of boxing, collaboration and international sport in 2026, as the International Boxing Association (IBA) prepares to welcome delegates from around the world to the vibrant city of Istanbul, Türkiye, from 3-6 December 2026.
Ahead of the Congress, with detailed arrival information and the Competition Handbook to be released in due course, anticipation is already building around the launch of the inaugural IBA President’s Cup. The event will mark the first competition within the IBA ELITE Project, an ambitious initiative designed to strengthen the development of amateur boxing by creating a clear and structured pathway for athletes aspiring to progress into IBA PRO and the professional ranks.
With registrations continuing to grow daily, momentum is building across the global boxing community as National Federations confirm their participation in what promises to be a landmark week for the sport.
IBA Secretary General and CEO, Chris Roberts OBE, welcomed the strong response from National Federations:

The Congress programme will also feature the highly regarded Global Boxing Forum, bringing together leaders, stakeholders and partners to showcase innovative projects, strategic developments and opportunities that will help shape the future of our sport.
Alongside the Forum, delegates will enjoy the thrilling finals of the IBA President’s Cup 2026, where emerging talent from around the world will compete on one of boxing’s newest international stages.
The IBA Ordinary Election Congress, taking place on 5 December 2026, represents one of the most important moments on the IBA calendar, providing National Federations with the opportunity to participate in the democratic process that will help guide the organization into its next chapter.
