On September 12 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the first-ever Berlin SchöneBeats Festival will take place. Around 1,500 guests are expected throughout the day: families, friends, and people who love Berlin’s diversity and want to celebrate, dance, play, eat, drink, and chat together. The venue is just as unusual as the occasion for the festival: The IKEA furniture store at Sachsendamm 47 in Tempelhof-Schöneberg is making its entire parking lot available.Here, there will be a stage for various live acts as well as a family program for kids and adults of all ages at diverse stations offering interactive activities. From 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, open festival operations will run across the entire grounds with plenty of music and culinary delights from many countries.”We are not offering a tightly scheduled program, but rather an unusual space for experiences and encounters,” says co-initiator Dieter Padar. The Berlin entrepreneur, philanthropist, and gentleman has long been known for his charity campaigns benefiting the homeless and Berlin’s AIDS-Hilfe. This time, he and his fellow organizers are focusing on the coexistence of generations: “We want to bring people from different neighborhoods and age groups together, let children play together, and get adults talking to each other.
