Undefeated Puerto Rican super featherweight contender Henry “Moncho” Lebron has signed a long-term promotional deal with Salita Promotions and Universal Promotions. The IBF top-5 ranked contender will make his promotional debut on Saturday Sept. 26 in Puerto Rico live on Wynn Records Network as he looks to stay active, raise his profile and secure a world title opportunity in 2027.
Lebron (21-0, 11 KOs) will face Derlyn Hernandez (14-5-1, 12 KOs) in a 10-round bout on Sept. 26 from a Puerto Rican venue to be announced in the coming days.
The 28-year-old Lebron, of Aguadilla, is ranked No. 5 by the IBF, No. by the 12 WBO and No. by the 14 WBA. The southpaw’s career-best win came in 2024 against multi-time former world title challenger Christopher Diaz, who previously went the distance with Shakur Stevenson and Masayuki Ito. After not fighting in 2025 due to promotional disputes, Lebron returned in January of 2026 with a seventh-round TKO of Juan Tapia in San Juan.
Lebron was an accomplished amateur, compiling a 153-7 record and winning the Puerto Rican National Championships from 2013-2016. He turned professional in 2017 but has struggled to land meaningful fights in recent years and looks forward to staying active and earning a world title shot with a new team behind him.
“I’m beyond excited to finally feel like my career has new life again,” Lebon said. “After four challenging years, I now have a team behind me that shares the same vision and determination to help me achieve my goal of becoming a world champion.”
“When I sat down with my new management team at Gold Nation Sports, my No. 1 priority was activity. I wanted to know that I would have the opportunities to stay busy and continue moving forward in my career. They understood that immediately, and with the strong partnership between Puerto Rico’s leading boxing promoter, Universal Promotions, and Salita Promotions, that commitment is there. That’s why I felt confident making this important decision.”
“I know the fans have been waiting for it, and trust me, I’m just as eager to get back in the ring and give them something to cheer about.”
The signing with Salita Promotions and Universal Promotions, along with Wynn Records, is the latest in a series of commitments to the island known for producing some of boxing’s best talent. Earlier this year, Salita and Universal announced the signing of former amateur standout Caleb Tirado, who made his promotional debut in June and returns this Saturday in Detroit. The entities are further committed to signing more of Puerto Rico’s top talent and working together to develop the island’s next crop of boxing stars.
“I am excited about the signing of Henry Lebron, one of the best young, undefeated, world-rated contenders from the great island of Puerto Rico,” said Dmitriy Salita, President of Salita Promotions. “We are committed to developing the next generation of Puerto Rican superstars and very happy to continue building our partnership with Universal Promotions, the most active promoter on the island. Our goal is to develop multiple world champions and create a strong promotional bridge between Puerto Rico and the United States.”
In Derlyn Hernandez, Lebron will take on the WBO’s No. 14 ranked contender and the WBO Global Junior Lightweight Champion as he looks to stay active and secure a world title opportunity in 2027. Universal Promotions and Salita have worked together on two events in Puerto Rico thus far in 2026 and will produce two more nationally televised events on the island to round out the year.
“Without a doubt, the signing of Henry Lebrón represents one of the most important acquisitions our organization has made in recent years,” said Javier Bustillo, President of Universal Promotions. “Widely regarded as one of Puerto Rico’s premier boxing talents, Lebrón possesses all the attributes necessary to become a future world champion.”
“Today, we are proud to join forces with Salita Promotions and Wynn Record in a strategic partnership aimed at guiding this exceptional Puerto Rican fighter to the pinnacle of the sport. Together, we are committed to providing Henry with the opportunities, platform, and support needed to fulfill his tremendous potential and ultimately capture a world championship.”
“The future is bright for Henry Lebrón, and we’re honored to be part of this exciting journey toward boxing’s highest honors.”
Added Ruben Branson, CEO of Wynn Records: “We’re excited to welcome Henry Lebrón and continue expanding Wynn Records’ presence in Puerto Rico, a market with such a rich boxing history and some of the most passionate fans in the sport. Together with Salita Promotions and Universal Promotions, we see a tremendous opportunity to elevate Henry’s career, bring meaningful fights to Puerto Rico and continue creating major moments for fight fans. This partnership is another step in our commitment to investing in world-class talent and growing our footprint in boxing globally.”
