Opening the main portion of the Taylor-Pili card were fellow unbeatens super middleweights Taylor Bevan (Southampton, UK) taking on Emmet Brennan (Dublin, Ireland). Bevan looked to apply his vaunted power early by going to Brennan’s body. Brennan boxed carefully in the second, taking Bevans’s advantage away for the moment. Late in the third, Bevans landed a crushing left hook that dropped Brennan hard. He beat the count but was down again from a three-punch combo. Saved by the bell from further punishment, Brennan made it to his corner and actually held his own in the fourth round.

With seconds to go in the fifth round, Brennan was down again, this time from a left hook to the body. Again, he beat the count and was saved by the bell.
The start of the sixth round was delayed as a long meeting between the doctors and Brennan took place in his corner. The doctors agreed to let Brennan out for the next round, but it didn’t last long as a body shot dropped Brennan moments into the round and then a vicious left to the jaw laid him out flat on his back, the towel mootly coming in from his corner. The time was 0:36 of the sixth. Bevan improves to 10-0, 9 KOs. Brennan loses his first at 6-1, 1 KO.
