Bournemouth’s impressive season could reach new heights with an Emirates FA Cup triumph, according to forward Antoine Semenyo.
The Cherries are currently seventh in the Premier League and have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup, where they will face Newcastle United in March.
With the quarterfinals on the horizon, optimism is growing among the players. Semenyo, who has been in outstanding form this season, believes a deep run in the tournament would be the perfect way to cap off what has already been a remarkable campaign for Bournemouth.
“[The FA Cup] would be the cherry on top for us. We know we’re doing well this season. The manager values [a cup run] highly, and all of us as players see it as an important opportunity. It would be amazing to reach a semifinal and play at Wembley,” Semenyo told ESPN.
“This is a personal dream of mine, and I think for the team as well. We’d love to go on a cup run and see how far we can go. We just have to wait and see,” he added.
Semenyo’s goal against Everton in the previous round took his season tally to nine goals across all competitions.
His recent form has been particularly impressive, contributing six goal involvements—four goals and two assists—in his last six matches.
