Foster Wumbei Jagri, the Bono East Regional Operations Manager of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has advised unemployed young people in the region to visit the office for job opportunities.

He said the Agency’s models were designed to create employment opportunities for the youth, assuring that those who leverage on that would fetch themselves decent jobs and enhance their socio-economic livelihoods.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Techiman, Jagri said several opportunities abounded for the young people interested in the employable skills training, agriculture, forestry and sanitation sectors.

He said the Agency in the region had just activated the “Job Abroad” model that recruited and exported the youth with employable skills to work abroad.

Jagri said the Agency had recruited and trained the first batch of the police, National Ambulance Emergency Unit and Fire Assistants who would soon be deployed to their respective stations.

He emphasised that the YEA remained committed to deliver its mandate of creating decent job opportunities for the youth and urged the teeming unemployed youth in the region to capitalize on their models too.

Jagri said the Agency would roll out additional models to absorb more young people in tackling the nation’s unemployment situation and also enable them to contribute meaningfully to national development.
