By CHARLOTTE KARP, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER

    Published: 23:51 EDT, 19 May 2026 | Updated: 00:06 EDT, 20 May 2026

Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed’s two brothers are accused of trying to claim a slice of his $2.6m GoFundMe windfall, allegedly threatening to ‘break your other arm and smash your face’ if he didn’t hand over $200,000.

Sameh Al Ahmed and Hozaifa Al Ahmed pleaded not guilty in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday over allegations they threatened the Bondi hero in a phone call on May 7.

The accused were living overseas when Sajid Akram and his son Naveed allegedly opened fire at a Chanukah event at Bondi Beach on December 14, killing five people and injuring 40.

Ahmed was lauded a hero after he was filmed tackling Sajid to the ground and wrestling the firearm from his hands, injuring his own arm in the fray.

He became a multi-millionaire when people from all hover the world donated to his fundraiser.

According to court documents obtained by News Corp, Sameh and Hozaifa started living with Ahmed and their father in Bankstown when they returned from overseas earlier this year.

Police allege the relationship between the brothers broke down, to the point where Ahmed left the Bankstown home and moved to Sans Souci.

However, the situation took a dark turn when Hosaifa allegedly phoned Ahmed and said: ‘If you’re a man, you would come here.’

‘I will put your head under my boot, break your other arm and smash your face.

‘We will only leave if you give us $100,000 each.’

Police allege Ahmed hung up, but had another call from Sameh who allegedly made the same threats.

‘This situation is going to get worse for you,’ he allegedly said.

‘If you want peace of mind and to be safe, you will give us $100,000 each.’

Ahmed’s lawyer told him to report the alleged incident to police.

Hosaifa and Sameh were arrested a few days later and charged with using a carriage service to harass or offend.

They were previously granted conditional bail and pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.

The matter will return to court in July.
