Ghanaian musician and radio presenter Blakk Rasta has commented on reports surrounding the arrest of a notorious fraudster identified as Abu Trica.

Speaking in a video circulating online on December 14, 2025, Blakk Rasta claimed that multiple security agencies were involved in the arrest of the individual, whom he described as one of the top scammers operating in Ghana.

According to Blakk Rasta, the suspect, widely known as Abu Trica, was born and raised in Swedru, but his real name is Frederick Kumi.

He alleged that the suspect adopted the name Abu Trica later in life, despite being raised in a Christian home.

Blakk Rasta further claimed that Abu Trica’s father is a carpenter, while his mother sells tilapia at the Swedru Market.

“News is all over the media that a certain fraudster by the name Abu Trica has been arrested. It took six different agencies in Ghana and beyond coming together to apprehend him.

“He was born and raised in Swedru, and his real name is Frederick Kumi. He later decided to call himself Abu Trica. His father is a carpenter, and his mother sells tilapia at the Swedru Market,” he stated.

Touching on the suspect’s age, the broadcaster said that although some media reports have described him as older, information from people who grew up with him suggests otherwise.

According to him, Abu Trica is believed to be between 25 and 28 years old, noting that he is likely not even 30.

“The young man the media has described is probably not up to 30 years yet. He may be between 25 and 28, according to people who were born and raised with him in the same area in Swedru,” he said.

Blakk Rasta also made broader comments about Swedru, describing it as one of the places in Ghana that has gained a reputation for internet fraud activities.

“Swedru is seen as a place where many scammers come from. There are other areas in Ghana known for such activities, and Swedru is one of them. Abu Trica is one of the top scammers in the area,” he added.
