The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to unveil the Black Stars squad by the end of this week, according to Communications Director Henry Asante Twum.

This announcement comes as Ghana prepares for crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar.

“Luckily, we have exhausted all these processes, and we are sure that by the close of this week, he will announce the team. Sometimes, around this time, what results in one or two delays is the fact that, over the weekend, the players will play football. So, a lot of coaches wait until the weekend matches are over to ensure that nobody gets injured. If we have positive news, then the boys come,” Twum explained.

Local media reports suggest that Jordan Ayew, who has been a pivotal figure for the national team, is expected to captain the squad in the upcoming fixtures. Ayew’s leadership will be vital as Ghana aims to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, Ghana currently shares the top position with Comoros, with both teams having accumulated nine points from their initial four matches. The Black Stars are keen to capitalize on their form to maintain their lead in the group.
