The Black Stars delivered yet another impressive performance, securing a convincing 3-0 victory over Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Monday, March 25, 2025.

Otto Addo’s side claimed all three points in a must-win game, further strengthening their position at the top of the table.

Although they were not overwhelmingly dominant, the team showcased resilience and efficiency, ensuring a crucial victory at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium.

Check out the player ratings below

    Benjamin Asare – 7

Asare kept yet another clean sheet, making it two in two games. Unlike the match against Chad, he was more involved, demonstrating command in his area and solid footwork in build-up play. He also produced a brilliant save from Madagascar’s only shot on target in the second half.

    Mohammed Salisu – 6.5

Salisu was rock solid in defence, timing his tackles well and organizing the backline effectively. He was also heavily involved in the build-up with precise passing.

    Jerome Opoku – 7

Opoku formed a strong defensive partnership with Salisu and Djiku. His aerial dominance and ability to play out from the back were crucial in maintaining balance in the defence.

    Gideon Mensah – 7

Mensah was dominant on the left flank, excelling as a wing-back. His decision-making, positioning, and awareness played a key role in nullifying Madagascar’s attacks.

    Alexander Djiku – 6

Djiku was commanding in defence but was slightly less influential compared to Salisu and Opoku.

    Kingsley Schindler – 7

Schindler had one of his best performances for the Black Stars, especially in the first half. Defensively, he was solid, and in the second half, he pushed forward more, helping the team advance up the pitch.

    Thomas Partey – 9

Partey had one of his best games in a Black Stars jersey, scoring two vital goals. While he didn’t fully dictate the midfield tempo, his goals proved decisive in securing victory.

    Abu Francis – 6.5

In just his second start for the Black Stars, Francis impressed with his defensive contributions. He was tenacious in tackles, executed his destroyer role well, and kept possession tidy and efficient in transitions.

    Jordan Ayew – 9

Ayew was exceptional, providing assists for all three goals. He was unplayable in tight spaces, particularly dangerous on set-pieces, and had a near-perfect game.

    Antoine Semenyo – 6

Semenyo had a quiet game as the lone striker, largely due to Ghana’s defensive setup. However, his relentless pressing, off-the-ball runs, and work rate were valuable for the team.

    Mohammed Kudus – 7.5

Kudus ended his goal drought, netting Ghana’s third goal of the night. Aside from scoring, his ball-carrying skills and hold-up play were crucial in creating chances and drawing fouls in key moments.
