Antoine Semenyo is a forward of the Black Stars

Antoine Semenyo says Ghana have several players capable of scoring goals, and their performance against Chad proved it.

The Black Stars had struggled in attack in recent games, scoring only three times in their last six matches, a poor run that contributed to their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, they responded in style with a 5-0 win at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

“I feel like we’ve got goal scorers in the team. We just need to get into the right positions, and we’ve done that today. Scoring five goals is a confidence booster,” Semenyo said after the match.

Ghana started strongly, with Semenyo opening the scoring in just the second minute. Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah also found the net in a dominant display.

The team created several chances and looked sharper in attack compared to previous matches.

The victory put Ghana at the top of Group I in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Otto Addo’s men will now turn their attention to Monday’s crucial game against Madagascar, where they will aim to continue their scoring form.
