Ghana’s U-17 national football team, the Black Starlets secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Division Two side Zilina FC in a friendly match on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in preparations for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Ivory Coast.

The contest saw the young Ghanaian side display resilience and tactical discipline against a determined Zilina FC team with a decisive goal to secure the victory.

This match is part of the team’s build up as coach Prosper Narteh Ogum asses his squad’s readiness and try new tactics against competitive opponents as they intensify training ahead of the regional tournament, which also serves as the qualification pathway to the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
