Organisers of the recently held Unifest concert at the Takoradi Mall Event Center, have explained the reasons behind the Black Sherif’s delayed performance that has since sparked discussions online.

It will be recalled that on June 22, 2025, Black Sherif became a trending topic on social media after fans pelted him with water in frustration over his late appearance on stage.

In a new development, event promoters have claimed that Black Sherif’s team rejected the agreed payment just an hour before his scheduled performance.

One of the organisers, Mutombo, explained during an interview that the artiste’s management initially agreed to a performance fee of GH¢300,000 but later demanded an additional GH¢50,000.

“We paid this guy GH¢300,000, and he refused to mount the stage. They were asking for an extra GH¢50,000, and for about an hour, they kept deliberating on this extra money,” he said.

Another organiser, YB, also spoke on YFM, offering further insight into the cause of the delay.

According to him, Black Sherif’s team raised concerns about the stage setup, claiming it did not meet their required standards.

“They have their standard, and the stage didn’t meet it. They made several complaints. I didn’t include production details in the contract, though. Still, the management wasn’t satisfied with the setup,” YB stated.
