Black Sherif says time and growth have reshaped how he views revenge, turning what was once a desire for payback into a commitment to responsibility and clarity.

In a recent interview with Dose Society, later shared by Empire on X, the chart-topping artiste admitted that during his younger years, he often imagined confronting those who mistreated him on his path to success.

“Growing up has changed my life because when I was a kid and even somewhere in high school, I still had grudges in me, and some people have wronged me, and I was like, when I grow up, I will show them.

“But then I grew up and I found out showing them isn’t something I really wanted to do because I have responsibilities. And I have clarity of my direction and where I want to take my life to,” he explained.

Known offstage as Mohammed Ismail Sherif, the award-winning artiste used the moment to share a broader lesson with fans. He urged listeners to invest their energy in love, persistence, and family rather than seeking retribution.

“You won’t that time, so don’t worry thinking about it… Center your things around love, hustle, and family, and everything. You need to love your hustle because you need to keep showing up, and if it is not something you love, you will work up someday and not show up,” Black Sherif stated.
