The Black Princesses have qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after holding Uganda to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of their qualifier in Kampala.

Ghana sealed qualification with a 3-2 aggregate victory after edging the first leg 2-1 at home.

Linda Owusu emerged the hero for the Black Princesses, producing a stunning free-kick to cancel out Uganda’s opener and restore Ghana’s advantage in the tie.

Speaking after the game, head coach Charles Sampson admitted his side struggled in the opening half against a determined Ugandan team.

“The first half was very difficult for us,” Sampson said in his post-match interview.

The coach, however, praised his players for their resilience and revealed tactical changes made after the break helped Ghana regain control and secure the result needed for qualification.

The draw confirmed Ghana’s return to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with the Black Princesses once again set to represent the country on the global stage.
