Ghana’s Black Galaxies squad Ghana’s Black Galaxies squad

Ghana’s Black Galaxies put on a stellar display in a friendly match against Northern City FC on Thursday, December 5, 2024, claiming an emphatic 5-0 victory as they ramp up preparations for their upcoming CHAN qualifier against Nigeria.

The match played at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence

in Prampram, saw Berekum Chelsea’s Stephen Amankona steal the spotlight with an impressive hat-trick. Hamza Issah and Abdul Rahman added to the tally, ensuring the national team’s dominant performance.

This convincing win follows the Galaxies’ narrow 1-0 triumph over Nania FC earlier in the day, where rising star Jerry Afriyie’s lone goal made the difference.

These back-to-back matches have provided valuable opportunities for the team to fine-tune their strategies ahead of their crucial clash with Nigeria.

The Black Galaxies will host the first leg of the CHAN qualifier against Nigeria on December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return leg set for December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.

The Black Galaxies will continue with training after the two games today and will likely play a couple of friendlies before going into the tie against Nigeria.
