Ghana’s U-15 girls team, the Black Damsels, have successfully defended their title at the CAF African Schools Football Championship after a dramatic victory over Burkina Faso in the final.

The tightly contested encounter ended in a penalty shootout, with Ghana edging their West African rivals 10-9 to secure back-to-back championships and reaffirm their dominance in the competition.

The Black Damsels displayed resilience and quality throughout the tournament, overcoming strong opposition on their path to the final. They recorded impressive wins against Guinea, Tanzania, and Zambia, showcasing both attacking strength and defensive discipline.

In the final, both teams battled intensely but failed to break the deadlock in regulation time, forcing the match into penalties. Ghana held their nerve in the shootout, converting crucial kicks to clinch the title in dramatic fashion.

The victory marks another significant milestone for Ghana’s youth football development, highlighting the country’s growing strength in women’s football at the grassroots level.

The triumph is expected to boost confidence in the national women’s football setup, as stakeholders continue efforts to build a strong pipeline of talent for the senior national teams in future international competitions.
