North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick sure hasn’t lost his fastball – or rather, his eephus pitch – when it comes to in-game interviews.
Belichick and his Tar Heels ventured south for a battle with neighboring-state rivals Clemson in an ACC battle.
Coming out of halftime, Belichick was pulled by ESPN sideline reporter Stormy Buonantony to get his thoughts on how the first half played out.
In typical Belichickian fashion, the coach wasn’t willing to give much detail and provided only the bare minimum of responses.
When asked about the penalties his team was charged with, Belichick simply replied, ‘Too many, yeah. Too many.’
Buonantony tried getting more out of him and asked if there was anything else the Tar Heels needed to improve on.

Belichick didn’t take the bait: ‘No, just gotta keep executing better. Too many penalties.’
Play-by-play man Bob Wischusen chuckled and welcomed Buonantony to ‘the club’ of reporters who couldn’t get much out of the eight-time Super Bowl champion.
Wischusen asked how Buonantony was faring, to which she joked: ‘I’m fine, I made it out alive guys.’
Football fans criticized Belichick for his terse demeanor and short responses.
‘His act has grown tired and stale, he’s just an old douche now,’ read one comment on X.
A similar message read, ‘Just can’t help himself from being an absolute douche.’
‘I feel for @StormBuonantony! But damn if she didn’t handle this perfectly. Tip of the cap, ma’am!’ one commenter said.
Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, joined him for the trip across the border from North Carolina to South Carolina and wore appropriate colors for the situation.

Hudson was spotted wearing a strapless top and long-legged pants – both in Carolina blue.
She rounded out the outfit wearing white high heels and accessorized with a white bag. Hudson also appeared to be carrying a laptop with her inside the stadium.
She was seen walking into the stadium with Belichick, who hoped to get revenge for a loss to Dabo Swinney’s Clemson Tigers from last season.
Her moral support comes amid a week of controversy and change for the Tar Heels after Belichick’s son, Steve Belichick, left his post as the team’s defensive coordinator following an investigation into the football program’s culture found ‘a disregard for Carolina’s values and standards of conduct.’
The 39-year-old was mysteriously placed on medical leave last month before a bombshell report from WRAL claimed investigators were looking into whether the defensive coordinator used drugs on the job or supplied drugs to at least one Tar Heels player.
The game between Clemson and North Carolina is in the middle of a lengthy weather delay due to lightning at the time of reporting. Before the pause, UNC was leading 17-15.
