Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal at the end of June 2025 Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal at the end of June 2025

Arsenal fan and British broadcaster Piers Morgan has expressed disappointment over Thomas Partey’s impending departure from the club, branding it a “big loss” in what he described as an “underwhelming” transfer window so far for the Gunners.

The outspoken media personality took to X to voice his concerns following reports that Partey will leave the North London club at the end of June after failing to agree on a contract extension.

“Big loss. This is a very underwhelming transfer window so far for Arsenal,” Morgan wrote.

The Ghanaian midfielder, who joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for £45 million, will now depart as a free agent after four seasons in North London.

While injuries hampered parts of his time at the Emirates, Partey’s technical quality, strength, and control in midfield were widely appreciated, especially in high-stakes matches.

According to multiple sources, talks between the player’s camp and Arsenal stalled in recent months, with no breakthrough in sight.

As a result, Partey is now on the verge of sealing a move away, with Saudi Arabian clubs reportedly circling with attractive offers.

His exit comes amid a broader reshuffle at Arsenal, who are preparing for the 2025/26 season with renewed ambitions after falling just short in the Premier League title race last term.

Manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu are believed to be targeting replacements, with Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard emerging as a top candidate.

Partey’s departure, however, has drawn mixed reactions from fans. While some believe it’s time to move on from the injury-plagued midfielder, others, like Morgan, see the loss of the Ghanaian as a blow to the team’s core strength and experience.
