The Pan-African Parliament, also referred to as the African Parliament, serves as the legislative body of the African Union.

It held its inaugural session in March 2004, with the aim of providing a platform where representatives from all African states could convene, deliberate, and formulate policies addressing continental issues.

Initially based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Parliament was later relocated to Midrand, South Africa.

The Parliament operates through three main sections, with the Plenary serving as the principal legislative and deliberative body. It is within the Plenary that representatives regularly meet to discuss Africa-wide issues and explore potential solutions.
