Wendy Shay denies BBL allegations, says her curves are natural

Ghanaian singer, Wendy Shay, has responded to accusations that she underwent cosmetic surgery to enhance her figure.

In a post shared on her X page on July 10, 2025, the “Too Late” hitmaker expressed frustration over assumptions that her curvy body is the result of a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.

Wendy questioned why many people are quick to assume that any African woman with curves must have had surgery.

She challenged the narrative, asking whether people genuinely believe African women didn’t have naturally curvy bodies before BBLs became popular on the continent.

She clarified that she has simply gained weight in the “right places,” which may be why some are now attributing her physique to surgery.

Wendy emphasized that her body is completely natural and added that it’s not her fault people are only noticing it now.

She also recalled being bullied for her appearance when she first entered the music industry, suggesting that this may have caused some to overlook her natural figure at the time.

“So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine? What’s with this BBL tag… Is it because I have gained at the right places? Y’all should get a life and stop being naive. What you are seeing is 100% natural and it is not my fault y’all didn’t realise it earlier because of the Bullying when I stepped in the game.

“I’ve got it since! Clearly, humans will always have something to say. It’s either your booty is too big, too small, or too fake. Mind your business! Africa, Wake Up!” Wendy Shay wrote.
