This week on Ballot Briefing, the High Court in Accra has dismissed Bernard Mornah’s lawsuit challenging his disqualification from the December 7 election by the Electoral Commission. The court ruled that Mornah and his party missed the chance to correct errors on his forms. However, Mornah’s lawyer argued they were not given a proper opportunity to fix the errors.

Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has toured the Volta Region. He met with traditional rulers, stakeholders, and the Zongo community, who expressed gratitude for his support.

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has indefinitely suspended Parliament due to a lack of quorum for decision-making, following a boycott by New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs over which party should form the Majority Caucus. This came after the Supreme Court stayed Bagbin’s ruling that declared four seats vacant, which had made the National Democratic Congress (NDC) the majority.
